During the event, Rosen laid out her record cleaning up Washington corruption and fighting to increase transparency & accountability
Political accountability watchdog slammed Brown as a “walking campaign finance violation”
Last week in Reno, Senator Jacky Rosen joined End Citizens United and local leaders to call out political corruption and highlight her work standing up to special interests, increasing accountability and transparency in Washington, and ensuring that Congress works for the people.
At the event, End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller called Sam Brown “a walking campaign violation” whose record speaks for itself. Brown’s ethics scandals include setting up a PAC to “help elect Republicans” but then used the funds almost entirely to pay off his own losing campaign’s debts, as well as trying to hide his role as a leader of an extreme anti-abortion group.

KTVN: Sen. Rosen touts record curbing dark money in Congress
August 15, 2024
- “[Rosen is] fighting to close the revolving door between members of Congress and the influence industry between them becoming lobbyists, and that’s a huge door because right now, about 2/3rds of members of Congress go on to become lobbyists,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller.
- “Too many Americans feel like they are being left out and left behind. That big money, the corporate special interests, and the biggest donors are calling the shots in Washington. And, Senator Rosen is doing something about it,” said Tiffany Muller.
- Senator Rosen is sponsoring several bills addressing corporate and special interests in U.S. politics. “I am proud to work for Nevadans to close the loopholes that benefit corrupt politicians, which is why I introduced and helped pass bipartisan legislation that will stop members of Congress convicted of crimes on the job from collecting those taxpayer pensions.”
- Rosen led the bipartisan No Corruption Act, which means that any member of Congress found guilty of felonies related to their official duties will no longer receive taxpayer-funded pensions.
- Rosen has co-sponsored a bill preventing members of Congress from trading stocks while they’re in office and stopping them and their staff from becoming lobbyists after leaving office.
- Rosen also proposes legislation prohibiting Supreme Court judges from getting gifts from special interests. “We have a binding code of ethics for the Supreme Court that’s just been put out there with leader Schumer. We are signing on to be sure our Supreme Court has ethics that are transparent,” said Rosen.
- We reached out to Republican senate candidate Sam Brown’s campaign about this topic, but they have not responded as of yet.
KUNR: Senator Jacky Rosen highlights her efforts to combat special interests in Washington
August 16, 2024
- Nevada Senator Jacky Rosen visited Reno yesterday to highlight her efforts to combat special interests in Washington. KUNR’s Nick Stewart has more.
- At the Democratic Party of Washoe County Office, Rosen was joined by the political group End Citizens United to talk about the importance of limiting corporate influence in political campaigns.
- The group advocates for campaign finance reform, which aims to reduce the power of big money in politics. Rosen says the government needs to focus on the interests of people and not corporations.
- “I’m proud to stand here today with the support of End Citizens United and local leaders, as we push for a more accountable and more transparent system of government, because Nevadans do deserve a Senator who will take on special interests.”
- Rosen also highlighted a bipartisan bill she helped pass, which prevents members of Congress convicted of felonies from receiving pensions funded by taxpayers. She says the bill is a crucial step to ensure accountability and restore trust in government.
